Who we are
The Build Tampa Bay Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in Tampa, Florida. We connect people to the building and construction industry through hands-on training, mentorship, and service — and we put those skills to work improving homes and neighborhoods across Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties.
Our region is growing fast, and the need for skilled tradespeople has never been greater. By partnering with contractors, schools, and local organizations, we help close that gap while lifting up the families who call Tampa Bay home.
What we do

Hands-on pre-apprenticeship instruction in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC fundamentals, plus OSHA safety basics — so participants step onto a jobsite ready to work.

Volunteer and trainee crews make critical repairs for seniors, veterans, and low-income homeowners — ramps, roofs, porches, and the fixes that keep families safe at home.
Support for certification fees, tool kits, and work boots that remove the barriers to getting started.
Pairing participants with seasoned tradespeople and local employers for jobs and apprenticeships.
